I haven’t posted a photo in a bit, so here’s a sunset from last week. Look at that sun going down. LOOK AT IT.
I took this from a speeding car, too, so that’s fun. Not that the car was going faster than the allotted speed limits of the road, but that’s just what people say when they do something non vehicle related on a vehicle. “Look, he jumped from his horse on to that speeding train!” Was the train really speeding? THEY DIDN’T HAVE RULES IN THE OLD WEST.
The National Mall is a great place full of interesting things to look at, and if you aren’t careful you might actually get some exercise without even knowing it. But what if you want to see an interesting memorial but not be in and among hordes of people? Theodore Roosevelt Island might be what you are looking for.
After taking in the kites, the only other reasonable thing to do was to check out the DC Zoo. The weather had cleared up a bit, and although we were a bit tired, it was time to see some animals. The zoo isn’t the biggest in the world, but it’s totally free and they have red pandas. RED PANDAS.
The Cherry Blossom festival in Washington DC lasts a few freaks and is full of interesting events. One of the biggest and most visible is the Kite Festival, where the populace comes to the Mall and flies any kite that they have. The place ends up filthy with kites. It’s a great time.
Being the nation’s capital and all, Washington DC is the place to go if you want to put together a rally. Today, just east of the Washington Monument there was a rally for reason called adequately enough, the Reason Rally:
The Reason Rally is a movement-wide event sponsored by the country’s major secular organizations. The intent is to unify, energize, and embolden secular people nationwide, while dispelling the negative opinions held by so much of American society… and having a damn good time doing it!
Unfortunately, the weather proved to be rather nasty, so I didn’t stay long, but I was able to take a few photos of the event.

Hey guess what! It was nearly almost nice outside today (temperature-wise) to go on an adventure! Although it was 60+ degrees, about 1pm it started to drizzle and then pour. It was all good, though, because I definitely walked 5.82 miles. ON TO THE PICTURES!
So it’s President’s Day, and for this one day each year, the Library of Congress opens up the Main Reading Room to the public. Jumping on this opportunity, we went to the Library to get our read on. Or, at the very least, look at some books in the place National Treasure was filmed.
