Shameless Promotion

I am sexy. It’s been mentioned over at Pressed & Bound that we have new shirts, and I just wanted to make it painfully aware to everyone that we in fact do have new shirts. I’ll be the first to say that the first version came out a little weird, but everyone should be ironed out by now (get it, “ironed out?” Yeah, you got it.). So if anyone out there wanted to help promote our awesome* show, or simply needs a new t-shirt in the nerd fashion of jet black with white lettering, head on over to the P&B store and pick one out. We would appreciate it!

*No really, we’re awesome.

Final Cut Express HD

Sometimes I buy toys. It’s a simple fact of life for most men; it’s hard to break yourself away from things you could have fun with. My latest toy is not an inexpensive one: Final Cut Express HD. Some of you might say that it’s overkill for my purposes (Pressed & Bound), but I’d say it’s UNDERKILL. I don’t even know what that means.

So far the experience has been a completely positive one. No more am I having to fumble around with B.S. iMovie controls that make me want to kick puppies. The only times I’ve cursed with this program have stemmed from my own uneducated self. I’m having to learn how to use the software, and that’s been a pretty fun journey. Luckily, I’m walking into the experience with a firm understanding of what layers are, and how those things overlap, so I feel like I’m grabbing onto things faster than I might otherwise. With that said, it’s still taking a while to put some things together, again, simply because I don’t know how everything works. It’s all trial and error at this point, but I’m slowly learning how things work with each other.

So really I just wanted to gloat a little bit that I owned this program. I’m very happy with it after…a day, and hopefully it will continue to help me forget that iMovie ever existed.

P&B Episode 4

I only keep posting this information here so that Facebook will pick up the RSS feed. I’m hoping that you guys are actually going to Pressednbound.com and downloading the show, or that you’re checking out iTunes. Unfortunately, Facebook won’t allow you to import “notes” from two sources, otherwise I would and posts like this would go away. But I can’t, and it is in my duty to get this information out to the masses. So check out the fourth episode of the show!

Pressed & Bound On iTunes

We’ve finally become legit. As of today, you can now find us on iTunes; which in my opinion is super neato. There’s just something about having your face and content readily available to millions that’s very satisfying. Yes indeed.

You can find our show here. Clicking that link will open iTunes and take you right where you need to be to subscribe. So go to town.

Pressednbound.com

I may be getting ahead of myself and I may not, but since we have two episodes of P&B under our belts, I went ahead and constructed Pressednbound.com to handle all of the episodes. In addition to just having postings on the show, we’re going to have written reviews of books and movies as well.

Continuing with that, we actually could use to have some people write for us. If you read a lot or watch some interesting movies, shoot us an email and we’ll consider adding you to the staff. Really the only stipulation we have is that for movie reviews, we would like more obscure titles rather than huge Hollywood movies that people already know about anyway. Our goal is to try and bring some information on titles that may not be readily known to the public; give the lesser known films a chance. There’s really no limit for books, though; have at it.

So jump on over to Pressednbound.com and give ‘er a look. I won’t be hosting these shows here anymore, so update your RSS! We should also be on iTunes fairly soon.

Pressed & Bound

Well, it was bound to happen. I’m too nerdy and have been reviewing too many books on this site not to start doing a vidcast about books. So today a show about books has come to fruition: Pressed & Bound. In addition to just books, we’ll throw in reviews of obscure movies that you may not have heard of, just to please the ladies. So join myself and my co-host Joe Caputo as we plow through some mean ass book and movie reviews.

On this first episode, we cover:

Books:

Movies:
