I'm Smart; No, really.

According to this IQ test I just took, I’m not dumb. Go me.

Congratulations, Garret!
Your IQ score is 135

This number is based on a scientific formula that compares how many questions you answered correctly on the Classic IQ Test relative to others.

Your Intellectual Type is Facts Curator. This means you are highly intelligent and have picked up an impressive and unique collection of facts and figures over the years. You’ve got a remarkable vocabulary and exceptional math skills — which puts you in the same class as brainiacs like Bill Gates. And that’s just some of what we know about you from your test results.

Of course, this is just an online examination. I’m sure it’s geared a little low so that more people get a higher score and, thus, whatever product they might want to push gets more click-throughs by all of these “smart people.” I realize that might be the case, but it does not discourage me from feeling a little smarter that I might otherwise be. However, if it’s scored “relative to others,” then I dunno.

An interesting thing to think about – for me, at least – is that if the score is reputable, then the following chart from this website makes me sound even smarter:

Descriptive Classifications of Intelligence Quotients
IQ Description % of Population
130+ Very superior 2.2%
120-129 Superior 6.7%
110-119 High average 16.1%
90-109 Average 50%
80-89 Low average 16.1%
70-79 Borderline 6.7%
Below 70 Extremely low 2.2%

Now, I’m not one to toot my own horn, really, so this post is somewhat out of the ordinary, but I thought it was a fun test. Everyone should take it.
