Revenge of the Spam-Botsposted in Tech on Oct 10, 2006
The one downfall of having a site that’s open for anyone to comment is that sooner or later you get your face bombarded with spam-o-rama. From the beginning of this redesign I haven’t had any problems with random spam-bots until this week, when I’ve been hit with about six or so. That doesn’t seem like a lot, but it does when they all show up after one day. Also, my site has been sluggish like crazy lately. I don’t know if I should blame this on the spam-bot action or if it’s just something going on with my hosting right now, but it’s rather aggravating. What’s great about the bots is that they all have very positive things to say bout my website, with stuff like: “You make a lot of sense,” or “That’s better than I could have saed.” (I didn’t misquote that last one.) They are also posting on entries that really don’t have anything to do with anything, so that’s always fun too.
