Guarding the White House
posted in Photography on Oct 1, 2012
Here’s another image from a while back that I have forgotten to post. When people come to DC they usually like to take a look at the White House because that is simply the place that you go. On this day (which is the same day as this day), while showing a friend around town, we went by the famed building but for some reason could not get as close as normal. Guards had a wide perimeter set up around the south side of the building, and this shot is as close as we could get. It’s even zoomed in a little bit. We, along with quite a few tourists, had to stand in a line in front of this guy. There weren’t really any fences or barriers, but if someone tried to move up he’d inform them that they needed to step back.
So now you know that that happens sometimes.
