Here's The Only Thing I'll Say About This Obama Speech
posted in Media, People on Sep 8, 2009I’ve been reading through some of the news regarding this Obamarama speech later today, and one thing really stuck out that I’ve seen all around what these news stations and sites are reporting: a lot of people keep throwing around this term “indoctrinating.”
It’s not the use of the term, necessarily, that gets under my skin, it’s the people that are using the term: crazy ass conservatives who are probably crazy ass religious. Here’s a quote from Florida Republican chair Jim Greer, from a CBC News article:
“President Obama has turned to American’s children to spread his liberal lies, indoctrinating American’s youngest children before they have a chance to decide for themselves,” Greer said.
“…indoctrinating America’s youngest children before they have a chance to decide for themselves.” Isn’t that the cornerstone of religious acceptance? These same crazy ass conservatives who are balking at the idea of telling kids to stay in school probably wouldn’t have too many qualms with taking their kids to church first day from the womb. And that’s not to say crazy ass liberals don’t do the same thing, but I find it rather ironic that such an uproar is given over an 18 minute speech with supposed “indoctrination” towards a political view when we don’t give our kids a chance to make up their minds about their everlasting souls.
Just a thought.
Ninja Edit: I actually was just hoping that the speech would be Obama playing this video:
