Rejected

No, this isn’t about the ladies. This is about jobs. Yesterday I went through the whole interview process with the first big potential job I’ve come across since deciding to leave school. There were three parts to the interview process for this position, and through all three I felt pretty good. In the end, however, they were looking for someone with “more experience.” Whether this is a standard issue response or if it was more true to life, I don’t know, but either way I won’t be at that job on Monday.

At first I was a little upset simply because I don’t really fail at too many things. After a couple of minutes of thinking about it, though, it’s really not that huge of a deal in the grand scheme of things, so I’m fine with taking a hit. That’s an experience we all need anyway. Fortunately, right after telling me that I was not right for the job I applied for, the HR person told me that I could possibly be good for another job they have. So in the end I have another interview and it may all work out for the better. I’ll know about all of that in the following couple of weeks. On the upside I get another week without having to do a whole lot, but on the downside I also won’t really be getting paid. Oh well.
