YouTube Doubler

Every once in a while I like to bring you things that are most likely very old hat but still good in their own right. Today that thing is YouTube Doubler. I generally am not one who goes to YouTube on any regular basis. In fact, I generally don’t ever go there unless someone links something that is particularly relevant or interesting (I’m an internet video elitist, obviously). What the YouTube Doubler does, however, is something a little different. Somehow, by mixing together two videos that play simultaneously, side-by-side, the result can end up greater than the sum of its parts. And that’s really all the website does: take two videos, put them next to each other, play. Bam.

So let me give you and example (note, for my website, the column width is too low to have them side by side, so I changed it vertical; it shouldn’t matter much, however, but I want to let you know. Also, since there will be a couple of examples, I turned Autoplay to off. Just quickly hit play on the groupings and you’ll be fine.):
